The aim of this program is to introduce course participants with the core principles and functions of democratic journalism and national as well as regional regulations, also to provide journalism theory knowledge and to develop practical journalism skills that are needed in contemporary media landscape.
During this course, students will acquire basic knowledge of how to work for radio, television, print and online newsrooms and will get a unique internship possibility in Lithuanian media organisations.
RegistrationDuring theory classes and practical seminars students will acquire the knowledge on the essential techniques to construct journalistic messages. Different genres, editing strategies for different media types will be introduced and analyzed, as well as the principles of photojournalism, the essential rules for video recording in journalistic photography.
Knowledge of how to ethically collect, edit and publish information using certain channels and genres will be provided. Media laws and codes of ethics will be presented and explained by law professionals. Media psychology, sociology, and media’s role in political processes will be explained by academics and professionals of other fields.
Lectures, seminars, case studies, simulations, modelling of real world situations, professional practice in media organisations (in editorial offices or with individual mentors).

Lectures taking place on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.
