Virtual Newseum lectures on disinformation

Lithuanian Journalism Centre invites you to continue raising awareness about false information. We are organizing a series of lectures by our partners from Washington, DC  – the Newseum Museum of Expression and Freedom of Expression. Next week join these online workshops and hear more about fighting the Fake news in schools (for teachers, students and pupils) or working with communities (community leaders and civil society activists).

Newseum Lecturer Jessi McCarthy will present new but already proven and effective strategies to overcome coordinated disinformation campaigns. You will learn about the dangers of fake news and misinformation, how to evaluate the reliability of information and what methods to use while teaching it others.

Three sessions will be organized for schoolchildren and students (Wednesday, March 27, at 3 pm) for teachers (Thursday, March 28, at 3 pm) and civil society activists, journalists (29 March, Friday, 3 pm).
Since you only need a computer to connect to the Internet to receive audio and video broadcasts it is a great opportunity to organize a lecture for the whole class or colleagues at work.

We invite you to register for individual participants and groups here: https://goo.gl/forms/9tpj17xcYcB3vKDJ3
Lectures will be in English without translation.

More questions by e-mail: info@lzc.lt or by phone: +370 602 96 945.

The event is organized by the Lithuanian Journalism Center and the Newseum Museum in Washington in cooperation with the US Embassy in Lithuania and the US State Department.
