Media Law Guide for journalists in Lithuania

Media Law Guide for journalists in Lithuania

The Lithuanian Journalism Center together with its partners – Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania – has prepared a brief workbook for each professional working in the media or with the media and journalists. We publish its electronic versions.

The content of the manual is convenient to use, it introduces the legal norms relevant to journalists from the Civil Code, the Criminal Code, the Code of Administrative Violation of Law, the Law on the Provision of Information to the Public and other legal acts. The authors of the publication are lawyer, media law expert Dr Liudvika Meškauskaitė and journalist, DELFI Special Correspondent Dainius Sinkevičius. They not only summarized the legal regulation of media activities but also enriched this information with examples of real situations from the experience of court practice and editorial.

The guide was prepared not only in Lithuanian but also in Polish, Russian and English so that Lithuanian national minority journalists and foreign journalists working in Lithuania could become acquainted with the Lithuanian media law.
